  • Fix camera on point of interest?

Posted by Ljusto Struhar on August 6, 2008 at 10:47 am

Hey guys, this is literally driving me crazy. I have a camera and a null object, I want to rotate and distance the camera from it while keeping it focused on the immobile null object (point of interest).

I’ve used the expression to pickwhip the camera’s point of interest to the null object position. I’ve also auto-oriented the camera to the POI.

But when keyframe the camera into moving and rotating, it doesn’t focus on the POI.

    What am I doing wrong??

    Thanks!

Parent the camera to the null and rotate the null object, make sure it’s in 3d.

Thanks man, I can’t believe I haven’t thought of that.

Nulls are very cool. Worth investigating in great detail.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
