  • Colouring individual clones:

    Hi Guys!

I having a slight problem with cloner objects and shader effector. I am basically trying to colourize a selection of clones for eg. the project i am working on is of a map of china, and imagine as you have you mouse(cursor) moving over the area of china and as it does it raises upward. Well I’ve managed to get the raised functionality of the clones by using the mograph selection tool and plain effector. But when it comes to colourizing these raised clones I can’t seem to get my head around on how to do it.

I was thinking of using a shader effector but frankly thats where my imagination stops.

    Any suggestions is kindly regard,

If I understand what you’re trying to do I would use the same plain effector you’re already using. Turn it’s Parameters>Color Mode to on. Then you need a material on the cloner that can be affected by the color mode. So create a new material and put a Colorizer shader in the color channel. Inside the Colorizer, place a MoGraph Color Shader. Then set the Colorizer’s gradient to the colors you want. Use the interactive render region feature while you adjust, because you won’t see the changes in the regular editor display.
