    Hi everyone,

I have a grid of 9 cubes, flat projected with a .tif of a flag…all is well. Now, when I take the texture tag off the cloner and place it on the shader effector (set to color) the color, texture, grit of the .tif file is removed and it looks almost like a flat, toon shader (with even more muted colors) I assumed this was a “Use Alpha” thing, but it’s not. Any suggestions?

    Thank you,
    Craig

MoGraph only deals with color values for clones, so the shader effector can’t recreate the appearance of a full-on material directly. Why are you wanting to do it with a shader effector?

I was watching a FXPHD tut with Clapham and he did it using a PSD file. I am trying to map the flag onto the clones and then use a random effector on them to move them apart/rotate them. I followed the tutorial step by step and no luck.

Hmm, I don’t know why he would be using a shader effector that way. All you have to do is flat map the texture on the cloner and then choose, Fix Texture>Straight in the Cloner’s object tag to keep the texture from slipping.
