I am trying to do something that I though would be straight forward enough, but I am having a bit of trouble getting it to work the way I want it to.

Basically, I have an object that I have broken apart using a plug-in and I have made it a ridged body, raised it above the floor in my scene to let it drop, hit the floor and break apart.

What is actually happening in my scene is that the object that I am dropping is starting to break apart before it hits the floor.

I need to find a way to let me object drop and only break apart on impact with the floor.

    Thanks!

If by plugin you mean xbreaker, before breaking it apart select “enable upon impact” instead of its standard setting

It shouldn’t break up much before contact. If that’s the case the best workaround, IMO, is to apply the rb tag to an unbroken copy of the object and swap visibility when the object hits the floor.

Ya, that is what I think I am going to have to do.
When I switch the properties of the ridged body tag to break on impact, it just keeps my entier object intact and nothing shatters.

it’s Self Collisions that cause the separation before impact, just keyframe that (or use some xpresso to detect the collision) instead of swapping objects
