    Hi,
Im looking for the effect that can be applied to a piece of text in after effects which makes each letter sort of glow and it runs along the text from left to right, the text is here on this video link

    https://www.stuartprosper.com/glintwmv.wmv

does anyone know how I can do that? or what the effect is called, any help I would be very grateful!

    Look for CC light sweep.
that will create the glint for you.
If you make a coy of the layer and add some blur or experiment with the glow fitlers you shoudl be able to make that work.

However, if you dive deeply into text animators you can do this on a character by character basis. There are about 100 pages on text animators in the online manual for AE.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

    this could help:

in addition, Browse Text Presets using Adobe Bridge (loadable also from within AE) and look at the Text Presets, you’ll find lots of interesting things.
