  • Ambient Occlusion Shadow Multipass?

Posted by Jason Shevchuk on November 18, 2010 at 2:58 am

I’ve a scene lit with a sky object. Creating shadows on the floor with GI and Ambient Occlusion.
    No lights.

I’m doing a multi pass of AO and GI as well as my Object buffer…and the shadows aren’t coming through at all.

    what am I doing wrong?

    thanks

    Yes. I’ve tried Shadow…even Depth.
It’s not recognized as a shadow

the multipass Ambient Occlusion channel will have the AO but I don’t think you can pick up the “shadowing” of GI only it’s additive lighting.

    Thanks.
I was able to do it by adding an External Compositing Tag to my floor.
    Worked like a charm

    Hi,

Is the only thing you added an external compositing tag? I have tried this to and can’t get it to work even with that tag. Perhaps there is some more setting I haven’t considered?

Could you repeat in just the few steps I need to do to get GI shadows in multipass?

    best regards
