    Hello,

Experiencing a problem with Dynamics in v.12. First, created a Landscape object, making it editable. Assigned it the Rigid Body tag, changing Dynamic setting to off. Then, created a Sphere object, making it editable as well, and also assigned it the Rigid Body tag, this time with Dynamic setting left on.

Positioned Sphere slightly above Landscape, and pressed play. As expected, the Sphere drops and begins rolling down the hill. However, on closer inspection it is apparent that the Sphere is NOT following the actual geometry of the Landscape object. Instead, it is rolling down the hill, slightly above the curves in the geometry. It almost looks like it is following a “bounding box” that surrounds the Landscape object.

The same behavior occurs with nearly every combination of shapes I have used, so I know I must be missing something. If I drop a sphere on a flat plane, it follows it perfectly. However, if I do the same with any irregularly shaped surface or shaped object, it only interacts with what appears to be its bounding box.

    Any thoughts?

Advance thanks for any help you can give.

    Regards,

    Dave

probably you have to set the shape (Dynamics Body Tag/Collision/Shape) to Static Mesh

    Hi Brian,

Yep, that was it. Changing the shape to Static Mesh on the Landscape item did the trick.

Thanks so much for your time!
