    Noob question I know:

How do I begin or end a layer at a given point in time? In AE this would be easy, just slide the layer end to where you want to cut it off. In C4D can’t seem to figure it out.

    Thanks,

I’m new to Cinema 4D myself, but I think you can set keyframes for the “Visible in Renderer” command in the Attribute Manager > Basic tab. I’m not sure if that’s the effect you’re going for or not or if that’s even the best way, but just an idea.

    Good call… that worked. Thanks!

You can also use a Display Tag and key frame the visibility. It’s more like an opacity control than just an on off switch…if you ever need to key frame opacity. That’s how I turn layers on and off. It sucks having to key frame it though I wish it was more like after effects where you could just slide the layers around.
