Can you interrupt a Make Preview–Hardware Render?
Hi:
I’ve looked through the documentation and I’m not seeing a way to interrupt or stop a Make Preview once you’ve launched it. Once you’ve started a preview render do you just have to sit there and let it churn for however long it takes to complete?
I’ve posted elsewhere about preview renders taking 15 minutes for a 20 second animation. Today I was attempting to check a scene I’d tracked in Syntheyes consisting of just some nulls, a camera and a Background Object with a Quicktime of the footage I was tracking (ProRes codec). I set up a Make Preview Hardware render, 1280×720 and hit OK. After three or four minutes the progress bar got maybe a third of the way across and then locked up the program. I tried to Force Quit (Mac OS 10.5.8), but even Force Quit wouldn’t kill the program. I had to mash down the power button on my Mac Pro to turn off the system. That’s not acceptable to me.
Thanks.
