Im having alot of trouble with After Effects being consistent with regard to accepting my .aec file or not. After doing a couple of test, and thinking I was crazy, AE will refuse to open an .aec WHICH it just opened perfectly fine along with all its 3D data i.e. external compositing tags, camera, etc.

    Anyone ever have this problem?

    AE CS3 and C4D 10.506

    Thanks

For the sake of clarity, you are referring to IMPORTING not OPENING the .aec file correct?

As another precaution, are you sure you installed the correct plug-in for your version of After Effects?

I’ve only recently begun using C4D, at 11.5, so I’m not sure what issues could arise with 10.5

    Crisis diverted.
If anyone has trouble with aec files from 10.506 make sure you have the up to date plug in. I thought mine was up to date, per I have never had any problems.

Plugin for After Effects CS3 to CINEMA 4D <=R11 connection. Update Mar 3 2008: Import bug fixed https://www.maxon.net/en/downloads/updates-co/updates/plugins.html

    Thanks for the reply Jeremy!
