    Is there a really simple way to make a camera follow an object? For example, a space ship flying in between objects making turns, etc, is there a simple way to make a camera follow it a few “feet” behind it and make fluid turns as well? I figure nothing in life is simple, but here’s hoping!

    Well, I guess, there’re always many ways to do this…
    Personally, I would attach a Camera Target to the flying object and would animate
    the camera manually… (good control about distance, position and speed…)

    Otherwise on could create a Spline of the flight-pass, and give the camera an Align
    to Spline Expression and start the Position a “few” frames behind the object…

    Maybe changing the positions of the Spline-points would give some interest…?

    I guess, Expresso could achieve this easily…?

    Another way could be to put a target camera in your scene, position it as far behind your object as you want. Make the object it’s target. Once it is in place, group the object and camera into a null, create your spline for the object path and add an align to spline tag to the null object. Clicking on the tangential option will make sure it twists and turns with the spline.

    Just another suggestion.

    If you attach the camera to a spline I’d also add a Vibrate tag with low settings to make the camera softly change its distance from the object and also side to side so it doesn’t follow it so precisely. You could also duplicate the same spline and one for each (the object and the camera) and offset them a little so UFO turns first, then camera.
