I want to create a video of a person recording themselves in front of a camera for a blog. This takes place in a Japanese courtyard with a pagoda in the background. Out of the blue, I want a missile to crash into the pagoda causing flying debris and planks of wood to burst everywhere. I then want the building to collapse to the ground ending the scene.
Can somebody please tell me how I can get this shot done. I would appreciate any links or tutorials. I’ve only been using cinema 4d for a week. Thanks!

    -Track your shot
    -match the camera
-model everything that will interact or blow up
-project textures/ create matching textures for the explosion
-cut up and connect all the pieces that are to explode (see the MOdynamics tut here at creative cow)
-Set up your physics (the explosion) depending what modules you have this is completely different. (cmivfx tp tutorial NOT free)
-Set up particles (thinking if you have them)
-Set up lighting to match live action
    -render out alpha mattes
-Send all your renders to compositing and layer them together

I would say you need a little bit out of every C4D tutorial you can find. However
    search for: Cloth boomer

Thank you so much for the steps. Can I use multiple photos to apply as textures for the pagoda?

i use camera mapping for this. That means your video material provides the texture.
Projection man is made for this however i have not used it yet so cannot help you there.

yes you can and should use multiple layers of textures for this. there are texture tutorials at c4dcafe.com they are free but you have to sign up.
