  Animated sheen on Logo or Text?

  Hey guys,

  I was curios as to if anyone knows what the technique is to create that animated sheen look on top of text or logos? You see it everywhere, but I can never seem to achieve the same look. Here is an example of what I mean. Take a look at the reflective surface of the Toyota logo at the very end of the clip:

  Any suggestions or techniques would be appreciated.

  The best way would be to take the vector version of the logo, bring it into a 3D program first. I’d use Cinema 4D, apply an extrude NURBS object to it, give it some type of chrome texture, and shine a light or 2 over it, moving one of them to get the moving glare look.

  I have a chrome setup rig on my site under the “goodies” section.

  if you download that after you make your logo in 3D it should work nicely.

  I usually rotate the chrome sphere object slowly over time and it produces a nice reflection on the text that you apply the chrome texture to.
