    any suggestions on how to create a glossy face for text…. i.e. maltannon’s image here:

    I know it’s probably pretty simple, but haven’t grasped it yet.
    something to do with the diffuse channel?

    that looks like it was done in Photoshop but it can be done in 3D approximately like this (very crude) example

    Hi Brian,

    thanks for the response. Yeah that reference was actually done in AE.
    I’m on Cinema 9.6, and supposing that’s why your file won’t open.
    Anyway you could relate that info?

    There’s probably a lot of ways but my example was using a compressed Capsule for the object with a Danel shader on it. Close above it is a disk with a white texture with full luminance on it. To get the disk to not show in the render but still cause the highlight it has a Compositing tag with Seen By Camera unchecked.

    Add light(s) to taste…
