  Render setting for transparent background

  Hi,

  I have an animated gold 3d school logo that I made in C4D and would want to put it in the beginning of the video. I read I have to render it with an alpha channel and millions of colors +. I did so, but still AE don’t handle this file as a video with alpha.
  I saved my C4D project and a PNG file and that looks perfect on the school video with a transparent background, but it’s just a frame, a picture. How could I get the same result for my animation?
  Here are my settings in C4D.
  Please help me!

  Render settings:
  Format: Quicktime PNG, (or should I just pick quicktime video?) OPtions: millions of colors + (interlaced should be checked?)
  alpha channel: checked
  straight alpha: don’t know what is this
  separate alpha: should this one be checked also?

  Then I click on the make preview and I can choose that it should be a quicktime file. options: animation or PNG?

  I’m not sure if .png quicktime supports alpha. To be safe I’d set it to millions of colors+, Animation, or render it out as a .tif sequence. Straight alpha is hard to explain, but I’d recommend checking it.
