  • Bitmap size limit?

    Hi,

    I have placed a texture onto a floor plane (.PSD at 2480 x 3508, 15 MB).

When I render I get a texture error. Also the texture does not show up in the viewport.

I tried down-sizing the .PSD and tried rendering again, and it works.

Any Ideas? Is there a texture size limit in c4d?

I can get around this by creating a tiling texture (it’s a sandy beach) but I’d like to find out what the problem is for future work.

    Thanks
    John

I don’t think there’s a bitmap limit other than the amount of RAM Cinema can access. Certainly the texture size you were using shouldn’t be any problem.

    I see,

I have 3.5 Gig of RAM, but I most likely had photoshop, after effects and bridge open at the same as C4D, so I’ll try it again with less programs open and see how it goes.

Good to know there is no limit on image size.

    Thanks
    John
