Total Newb, stumbled on page one of the Quickstart Manual.
Dear all,
I’m a newb on both this Forum, and Cinema 4D. I started to work my way through the Quickstart PDF and stumbled straight away. I’ve created an editable Primitive, then added a couple of Polygons to a side, before creating a HYPERnurb and dropping the primitive on it. According to the manual picture I should still be able to see the ghost image of the original primitive (a cube in this instance) and manipulate that to alter my shape, but the cube has disappeared. I can’t follow the instructions in the manual with out it, so have stopped before I even started!Have I done something wrong?
Do I need to configure C4D in some way?Help appreciated.

Make sure you have the cube selected rather than the Hypernurb object.

Thanks for the response. Selecting either the cube or the HYPERnurb on the object manager doesn’t seem to change anything except the position of the x,y & z movement controls.
Still stumped.

Are you in point, polygon, or edge mode?

I’m in Polygon mode.

sounds like you have the HN Cage filter unchecked in the viewport configuration. Go to Edit/Configure (or Edit/Configure All) in the viewport edit menu (or Shift-V or Alt-V) and in the Filter tab in the Attribute Manager check off HN Cage.

Thank you SO much! There is no way in HELL i would have found that preference to change on my own. So much for the Quickstart Guide. Took me a week, and your help. Ha Ha.
