  • Review of Version 11 vs. 10?

Hi all, just got something from MAXON on the new version 11 of C4D. I have version 10.506 and loving it – I have all the modules and it all works great, even the InterPoser plugin which I use the most. Is there any compelling reason that I might want to upgrade? Thx!

The main reasons to upgrade to v11 are faster rendering in general, much faster and higher quality GI rendering, and the new non-linear animation system. You can always download the demo and see for yourself whether the new stuff makes sense for what you do from a cost/benefit perspective.

thx adam for that. do u know if the demo coexists with current version or do i have to setup up a test machine? (that takes alot of time, as i would have to install plugins, poserruntime, etc, etc.) the new animation function sounds interesting (although the old one seemed like any other). Even downloading the demo here takes forever! well, thx for ur comments.

I dont think that would be a problem. You could always install the demo on a USB stick and avoid it all together.

There’s no problem running the demo on a machine with R10 installed. I think you can even run them simultaneously.
