I’m fairly new to C4d but I’ve picked up most concepts except one that I would think to be simple. Floor interaction. I’m not doing a lot of character animation but for exploding obects or for an object to fall on the ground etc. how is that achieved outside of keyframing it and hoping something doesn’t poke through the bottom?

    Thanks

There are basically two approachs: simulations and constraints.

With the Dynamics module, Thinking Particles, and plugins like PhyRis and Silver Bullet, you can gravity and collision properties to objects. These are simulations so you don’t have precise control over where objects end up.

You can use Xpresso or the Constraint Tag to prevent an object from going below a certain distance on the Y axis (or any axis). This is just clamping position so there’s no bouncing or other automatic animation.
