  • Cloth/Soft Body Dynamics Question

    Hi,

I’m trying to simulate an airbag in Cinema 4D.

I have started by using cloth on a simple primitive sphere, and keyframing the Flexion property of the Clothide Tag.

The animation produced is convincing – however, if I have another airbag set off right next to it. the cloth doesn’t react properly. it starts to stick and hang.

I don’t think this is the best work flow for producing the desired result. I have started using soft body dynamics, but i am struggling to simulate the right effect.

does anyone have any suggestiosn on simulating a quickly inflating airbag, and simulating the effect on another airbag using something like cloth dynamics or soft body dynamics?

    Many Thanks

an object as both cloth and collider is usually a bit of a bear (not that someone doesn’t have a way). Maybe if both the bags were one object (one poly object containing both) it might work better with self-collision (maybe not), I’d have to test first to make a guess with soft bodies.
