    Hello,
I’m quite new to C4D (and 3D in general) but I’m slowly coming to grips with modeling techniques. One thing I’m yet to figure out how to model effectively is metal framework objects such as trusses and pylons. Short of making or duplicating each bar or tube and assembling them individually to make the whole construction (of potentially many hundreds of bars and tubes), can anyone give me any pointers to approach such a modeling project more efficiently?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Sven

One very easy way to do it is to use the Atom Array. It arrays pipes along edges of an object with (if you like) spheres at the junctions.

Atom Array is going make your point and Poly count go so high if you start duplicating hundreds of them.
It takes far more time but using N-sides and sweep nurbs with a spline (no intermediate points) really has been really efficient for me.

Check out the free Advanced Atom Array plugin: https://www.defcon-x.de/c4d-plugins

Should let you cut your Atom Array poly count at least in half.
