Can video be imported into cinema 4D and what format(i.e. avi, .mov, image sequences) does it need to be in? For instance, like MAC commercials where they have their laptops and video is playing on the screen or Ipods with video playing on them. Also, how would you map the video onto the 3D object?

Yes, can be .avi, .mov, or most any kind of sequence. You load them into the material channel of your choosing and apply the material to an object. Then adjust the material’s projection (flat, cubic, sphere, etc.). Check the help file for details.
