  • Joining splines for eagle flight

i would like to create an eagle flying up a helix shape spline and then gliding along a long straight spline. I created the two splines, connected them in object manager, gave eagle align to spline tag… But when i change the “position” percentage in the align to spline tag, the eagle only goes along one part of the spline (the helix) and stops, without going along the second spline EVEN THOUGH I CONNECTED THE TWO SPLINES INTO ONE!
What more do i need to do?
I tried playing around with the join segments function but that adds parts to the spine that i dont want!
I would also like to make the eagle flap its wings as it flies up the helix. how do i get the wing up-and-down movement to repeat itself again and again without having to create keyframes for every up and down position of its wings, which would take forever?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan

Create a Helix- and a Linear-Spline / make them both editable / run connect command /
delete the two old splines / go into Point-mode and select the two endpoints of the former helix and linear spline / weld them together / should your Align to Spline Expression start at the other end go to Structure / Edit Spline / Reverse sequence.
(You might like and change the Spline Intermediate Points to Uniform)

Regarding animating your wings, please have a look at this tutorial:
