hi ive been using c4d for 5 years now ,but just started doing composting in live video using syntheyes and c4d. I need help on a few things

    1. i have been trying to do all the composting inside of c4d. im not sure but i think the pro’s export to after fx in layers to tweek the shot. i have tryed this but my r10 c4d exports a .aec file and my 7.0 after fx only takes .aep files

    2. Is there any way to blend or blur a object to match the composting background. I have tryed a soft filter in the render settings but it blurs the whole scene not just the cg objects.

heres a few shots, you can see the objects are to clear to match the home video background.

i cant seem to get the images to work on the forum so you well have to copy and paste the link sorry

You have to install the AE plugin that comes with Cinema to open the .aec file. It’s in the maxon>exchange plugins folder.

Then you’ll probably want to render without the background footage, but with an alpha channel, and do the depth blurring in AE. To facilitate that you’ll probably also want to render a depth pass which can be used with AE’s lens blur.
