Hi, I am working on a project in Cinema4D which I render as multi-pass and do the post in After Effects.

I’ve got all the image and material passes that I need. I’ve added compositing tags to objects which I need masks for so i can color correct seperatetly, and external compositing tags for objects which will be replaced in After Effects and all that works fine.

But what I would also like to do is render seperate masks for certain materials the same way compositing tags work for objects – similar to effects channels in 3dsmax. The reason is I have a few materials (e.g. glass, brick, leaves etc.) which I have applied to many faces on many objects throughout my scene. I do not want masks for the whole object but for just that material (applied to face selections), and I do not want to go through hundreds of objects adding compositing tags… I just want it for that material. How can I set that up in Cinema 4D (10.5?)
    cheers,
