Yeah, as the title says, when I have a composition with more than one layer in it, and I go to add a Trapcode plug-in, I get some errors, a chance to save then ultimately closes down. When I go to re-open the saved file, I get same error, and it shuts down with same error pop-ups.

If anyone has some ideas why this may be happening, it’d be appreciated.

Have you upgraded to the latest versions of the plugins? Check the Trapcode site.

It’ normal that sometimes some plugins would make your AE crashed especially when you make some mistakes. Then ,when you opened you crashed project again ,it would keep crashing again and again. It seems the file you last saved had become a “bad” file.
There is a trick to avoid crashing again and save you project.
Open your AE,then make a NEW project, push Capslock in your keyboard, after that you can import the “bad” project file into this project. Now open the composition you last modified,DEl the last effect you applied to the layer,or just turn off it.At last, hit Caplock, you work would have come back, and you can adjust your mistake, congratulations!
