Hello there I’m new to cinema 4D and have become a bit stuck.

I have created an object using a spline placed into an extrude nurb and now I wish to edit it by cutting it up with the knife tool and extruding parts inside the object as you would with a cube object made editable.

    Is this possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Martyn.

    Hi Brian,
I’ve done that it puts the objects into a null object and leaves the knife tool grayed out.

    Man I’m stuck.

You’d have to be in poly mode and have one of the poly bits chosen. If you want to have all the parts (caps and body) as one object you will have to select them all and do a Functions/Connect. That will give you a new object with all the parts included (you can keep the old one and hide it or delete it). The parts in the new object are just all in the same poly object now, if you want them to all be attached to each other do an ‘Optimize’

Hay Brian thanks for the reply, I’ve sorted it out after following your advice.

I’m finding this quite hard to get the hang of as its unlike any other software that Ive used in the past.

Thanks again and I’m sure I will be back soon.

    Martyn.
