    hi,
so i’ve got this pretty complex mountain bike model that i am duplicating about 10 times. im rendering with the sketch and toon module from cinema 4D but 12 hours later with 41 out of 166 frames rendered i need to figure out a way to get this render going faster.

the only detail i need on the bikes are very basic outlines so im looking for away take some of the information out. reduced polygons? and if so how do i do this?

    thanks a lot.

There is (was?) a plugin called Simple Maker Pro, other than that….

There’s also a built-in poly reduction object which works reasonably well. Make sure you convert it to an editable object after you get the settings to your liking — otherwise it may be even slower than before.

I’m wondering if there’s something in your S&T settings that might be contributing to this, though. Sounds like you just need outline line style and no strokes. Is that what you have?

thanks guys. all good info. what i ended up doing was killing all shadows on the sketch and toon module in the render settings. this drastically cut down my render time by about 500%.

in my render settings under Effects, i selected Sketch and Toon, then selected Shading.
i then turned off shadows and illumination. this got the effect i wanted with reduced render time.
