    G’day world,

I’ve just recently picked up C4D and and I’m utterly confused about output. I’m making a short film, completely animated in C4D. I’ve created all my shots and I want to export each one so I can start editing them together in Final Cut Pro.

How in the hell do I do this? What are my options for going from Cinema 4D to Final Cut Pro? What’s the process? What are the file types? The only thing I’ve been able to obtain so far is the crappy .mov/.avi files ‘Make Preveiw’ churns out.

Thanks in advance for entertaining this fairly basic enquiry,
    Confused Beginner.

press cmd- B on a mac
    or ctrl – B on a pc

this will open up the render settings you can pick from tons of options…

Exporting to FCP has some thigs you should think about…if you go DVpal or DVntsc you dont need to render anything but if you go Animation you will get to preview in realtime but you will have to render eventually. Animation is bettter quality though…DVpal/ntsc looks great too.

then after you set up your render hit shift – R

    Cheers randy,

I’ve done what you said and it renders in the viewer… how do I get a file that I can use in Final Cut? does C4D automatically save the render somewhere?

Forgive me – I know these are probably very silly questions.
