Vertical 3D layers in horizontal movement
I’m trying to put a bunch of layers between my fingers and thumbs. It should look somewhat like the HP ad with Jay-Z.
My idea was to rotate the (3D) layers 90 degrees and pre-comp them. Second part of the idea was to “hang” the comp horizontally between my fingers, so that the layers in the comp are vertically arranged. So far, so good.
But, how to parent them to my fingers? So that it looks like they hover in between. My (second) idea was to parent them to my fingers using corner pin or cc power pin and parent this to tracked point on my fingers. But both effects deform the layers. It looks like they form in a certain direction; example.
My teacher gave me the advise to use 2 point tracking, to get the X and Y movement right and do the “Z movement” by hand. But I really hope there is a way in AE to work this out. Does anyone have a clue? Thank you very much in advance!Stef Prein
