  • Need help in outlining keyed footage

    Hi,
I have this footage of these people shot on green screen.
I want to have an outline around them, like a border, but only have the outline show.
So basically its like a bunch of outlines of people.
(sorry, know this has been asked before)
I read something about applying the glow effect, but its seems like a whole lot of steps and pre-comping.
Plus, when I tried that, the outline is black and for some reason I cannot turn it white, unless I pre-comp once again.
Is there any other effect that can accomplish this in a timely fashion?
Do I need to get a 3rd party plug in?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated
I feel kind of stupid not knowing how to achieve this, since I’ve seen it everwhere for awhile now.
But one of those projects came up and now I really need to know how to do it.
    Please help.
    Thanks so much!!!!

If you have AE 6.5 Pro, use Keylight to key the footage as you normally would, then switch the view to color correction edges. This will give you a black image with a white outline around the edge of the people. Create a new solid under this keyed layer of the color you want the edges to be. Set the keylight layer as a luma track matte for the solid. Use the Edge color correction settings in Keylight to control the width and softness of the luma edges.

After you key your footage, use auto trace, then apply stroke to the mas (layer), voila
