spline bezier
Posted by Espinoza on November 10, 2006 at 6:54 pmif i want linear between points, but just one point in a spline be bezier, how is this done.
i select the point, and select bezier in obj properties, but it makes the whole spline a bezier shape.

November 10, 2006 at 7:07 pmBreak the tangents by holding down Shift while dragging the handles. This allows you to insert straight segemnets in Beziers.

November 10, 2006 at 7:14 pmbut basically there is no way to selectively make only one point bezier out of many straight ones.
by break the tangents you mean just drag the handle to the point it is coming from?
thanks

That’s mathematically impossible. In that case you would have to have two separate curves blended together. Even in other programs such as Illustrator you have Beziers and straight elements are created by breaking tangents and setting their length to zero, which answers you second question. Ideally a straight segemnet should have no visible tangent at the incoming/ outgoing segemnets, but since that’s not practical, it’s usually good enough to line the tangents up with the segemnt itself and make it look straight.
