  • QT renders unstable?

I’ve been having a lot of problems with longer (800+ frame) animations rendered at D1 res to QT, Animation compressor set to lossless (100% quality). Pulling these into AE creates multiple redraw errors when I render out or RAM preview.

Anyone else having problems with C4D and QT?

I’m running v9.6 in XP Pro on a MacBook Pro using Bootcamp.

Why are you rendering to QT in the first place? You know, there’s always that next crash lurking somewhere that may hose your entire file… Using image sequences would be much wiser. Anyway, have you checked out the file in QTPlayer? I’m suspecting that C4D isn’t able to write the stream properly and somehow the streams get messed up. This can happen on long sequences, but is actually more of a hardware problem – you harddrive is to slow or fragmented so when C4D fires out a frame, some frames cause a jumble. I’d look into that. If you have time, try other CoDecs and see if they give the same problem (if it’s a hardware thing, it should be consistent behavior and always mess up).
