help! c4d workshops / training in nyc area?
I just finished teaching myself After Effects and now I’d like to start learning some 3d. I have read up on which 3d apps match best with After Effects and it seems like C4D is the most sensible for me, I also have read that c4d is pretty easy to learn on your own. While I am not adverse to learning C4D on my oen, I know that I could benefit from learning it in a classroom. There are plenty of schools around NYC that offer classes in Maya and 3d Studio Max, but I have yet to find any that offer C4D training. I really am in the mood to take some classes for 3d motion graphics in broadcast,,, Does anyone know a place that trains for C4D in NYC?
If I can’t find local training for C4D, does it make sense for me to take classes in Maya or 3D Studio and then transfer my knowledge to C4D down the line – and which of those two programs relates more closely to C4D and After Effects?

If you can, learn Maya. It’s more object-oriented than MAX which will help make the transition easier. Don’t overdo with Maya, though, or you may come to like it too much. ;o) No, in all seriousness, consider complementing whatever course you will be doing with getting some C4D related education by means of some DVDs or a subscription to Cineversity.
