Posted by Espinoza on August 24, 2006 at 11:56 pmwhats the deal with texture errors. i had a jpeg used as a flat projected texture, then i selected a plane on a poly and did a Function>Array… then i get this errror…
am loving this software… a great first entry into 3d.

August 25, 2006 at 4:21 pmwell..
i am getting occassional texture errors, i have imported some textures from other projects. this version doesnt have sketch and toon, which might be causing something as one of the materials is toon. but mainly its a .jpg that im using as a t6exture, which works fine for a while, and then will randomly (as it appears to me) will stop working via this texture error. sinceI’m new to C4D, i thought maybe this was a common thing i just hadnt run into yet.thats about all i know.
thanks

August 25, 2006 at 6:34 pmhard to know without more info (particularly pictures) but with images some modes (ie flat mapping on a plane) you might have to rotate the texture to get it to lay right on the surface (as opposed to running along the surface giving weird line textures you were not expecting). If you know all that then I would still need more info (or pictures).

August 28, 2006 at 4:29 pmthat- messy looking textures- can be a problem too
what i’m concerned with here is an ERROR MESSAGE saying TEXTURE ERROR. you click ok, and it renders black for any surfaces with that texture mapped there…
thanks

August 29, 2006 at 5:20 pmThat’s weird, usually that’s because it can’t find the texture anymore (because it was moved) or wrong format but given that you are using jpegs and they randomly disappear…. I don’t know
