    Hi all,

I’ve been asked to attempt something way outside my regular scope of C4D knowledge. However, I’m confident that with a bit of experimentation I may be able to pull it off.

Basically, I need to build a scene of “destruction” for our blue screen talent to run through. I need to try and figure out how to attempt the following :-

    Rock’s tumbling down a mountain.
Lava flowing down the side of a mountain
earthquake (i.e breaking up ground / buildings crumbling)

I know it probably sounds like a mammoth task, but I’m not looking to make “the day after tomorrow” style effects. It’s a very stylized piece. Most of the elements will be almost in Silhouette which I think may be my saving grace.

Anyway, any pointers on how to attempt this type of thing in would be great. We have the Studio bundle here, so have access to TP, Dynamics etc.

    Cheers,
    Andy

Some challenging stuff there. I would give serious consideration to buying Remotion’s PhiTools plugin, which makes hard-body dynamics a snap. There’s a demo you can try out: https://www.rendern.net/users/remotion (seems to be down at the moment).

You could use the Dynamics module, but it’s a steeper learning curve. Regarding lava, you’ll probably want to use Thinking Particles or the free Fizz plugin (https://wwww.bonkers.de) in conjunction with metaballs.
