OK folks. Now I need to create a prism refracting white light into the visible spectrum. I’ve got my pyramid with a material that’s totally translucent with full refraction and a floor and ceiling to catch the light. I’m getting everything but the rainbow. Any ideas?

Unfortunately Cinema doesn’t support dispersion/chromatic aberration, so you’ll have to fake it. One option is to combine three renders–one with a red light, one with a green light, and one with a blue light. You would change the glass material’s IOR for each pass to reflect the speed/deflection of the different wavelengths.

Thanks Adam. I did fake it, another way. Used a rainbow gradient in the Transparencies reflection channel. Kinda cheeseball, but it gets the point across. Still looks a lot better than anything I would’ve done in PS. Thanks for the help, and I’ll keep the tip in mind for future use.
