I bought “3D Modeling with Cinema4D R9” written by Tony Alley and am about to complete that. It’s good and takes you through the entire program in a very methodical way. Easy to understand, too. At first, I had bought Anne Powers book “Cinema4D: the Artist’s Projects Sourcebook”, but discovered that it was a bit outdated (written for 8.5) though ‘excellently’ written, but now that I’ve nearly completed Tony Alley’s book I feel I can go back and workthrough Ms. Powers books with the clear update Interface understanding (which is the only difference). Of all of the 3D apps C4D has definitely been easier to understand and grasp. It’s just like with anything I just need to spend time with it.
Mr. Alley has another title due out (hopefully soon) titled Exploring 3D Animation with C4D r9.
I will be using C4D with Motion 2 and Combustion 4 (mac). C4D is a joy to play with.
