Rpf object id???
This post may also belong in the after effects forum but i’ll try here first…
Im trying to separate objects in a multipass render for later compositing in after effects but am having some probs…
I see in my 3d channel effects in AE that i should be able to create a matte straight out of an rpf file but i cant get it to work. The only data that AE seems to like is the Z depth, other channels, like object id, come out solid black. Whats the trick to ensuring that the object id data is included in the rpf file???
The way i have it set up now is to set a compositing tag and object buffer assignment to the objects i want separate, which gives me a mask i can use in after effects as a luma matte. Fine. However, this matte seems to be straight, its all jaggy and too big and i dunno how to get it nice an premultiplied again.
I have a feeling that it will work much nicer if i can pull out an ID matte from an rpf. what am i missing???
