I am needing to comp a little alien character created in c4d into live action and need advice.

The shot is locked off so I don’t have matchmoving issues and the only lighting will be ambient (daylight).
My biggest problem I am guessing will be achieving natural shadows. I will make proxy objects from a clip of the scene for the shadows to fall on. The question is: can I render the shadows without the objects visible?

I plan to comp the whole thing in After Effects.

Put an “Composition Tag” on your Object
and only choose ” Cast Shadows”.

    Cheers
