this is kind of an after effects question but looking anywhere for the true info. i’m rendering out 3D animations as pict sequences from cinema4D that are set to be field rendered, 30fps. i’ve been using after effects to then render out that pict sequence to various quicktime D1 formats, usually lower field dominant animation codec. i’ve just been importing the C4d pict sequence as footage into afx and dropping it into a D1 29.97 comp and rendering it out. anyone know if it’s necessary/correct to actually interpret footage & field separate the pict sequence when importing to after effects for something like this, and should the 30fps pict sequence really be interpreted to 29.97 at that point? looking for help. . .

If you don’t change the position or scale of the footage, the field order is maintained even if you don’t de-interlace.
