  Individual Licence or Standard License Limitations for Stock Footage from Pond5

  As one individual making their first film (Pond5 single seat requirement met for the Standard License or now the Individual License) I have purchased stock footage from Pond5 over the last 5+ years and want to cover my bases if I sell the film and or secure distribution. However, I’ve recently heard “distribution limits” “no resale” “no transferring” associated with using footage under a Pond5 Standard or Individual License. I’ve read the license over and over without finding these limitations, I contacted Pond5 – but they cannot give legal advice. I contacted a lawyer who apparently does not guarantee their advice. I didn’t budget (cannot afford) the extra $300 per clip for an Extended License, plus purchased footage before it existed.

  Has anyone had any experience using Pond5 stock footage in a film and then had problems after selling it?
