  Pricing for illustration/animation licensing?

  Hi,

  I’ve got a request to make some animations for a company based in the US. They mentioned where the animation will be used and asked what the costs will be.
  
  “For usage, it’s a NYC & SF campaign – with four weeks media support. Video used only online and mobile. client would want usage on website during and after campaign.”

  I haven’t had a request like this so wondering what is a reasonable pricing for this?

  Really, pay no attention to where it is used, in what market, or for how long. For something like animation, that’s really irrelevant so don’t get bogged down into trying to figure out how that weighs in… as it really shouldn’t.

  Just whatever your usual hourly or project rate for a job like this is appropriate to bid… don’t get caught up in sweating the “Hey this might play in New York” drama, as that really doesn’t matter.
