    Hey guys …
I know that this posts title states that I´m obviously the wrong guy for the job;)
What would you do if you had to graphically enhance a videoclip, consisting out of about 230 cuts in 3 minutes, with no example of what the client likes? The video is about surfing, shoot on 5 locations (all mixed up), tells a few storys (e.g. the guys playing Domino with the locals, a girls gets fired cause she rather likes to go to the beach, etc.).
I´m totaly out of ideas …

Colour correct it and go home.

Or maybe Twitch over at videocopilot.net can be your friend.

If the different stories are intercut with one another across the piece, why not give each story a unique but subtle look – colouring one story blue, another redder etc. Then use some nice funky transitions between each story – ie, Twitch.

    Hey there …

I´m quite lucky because I´m not the director or the writer;) I´m just the editor.
I already gave all the different storys a different color grading. I think what the client maybe wanting is sort of a “dirty” vignette, if you know what I mean. So what would be the best way? I think trying stuff like film damage wouldn´t do the trick. I would need something like expression driven “grow stuff” or other ornament like objects which react to the beat.
I personally agree that a decent color grading is all that this clip needs and that adding graphical elements is a waste.
