The latest version of Leopard was just released today (10.5.3), and I’m starting this thread in the hopes that folks will post tales of their success (or lack thereof) when upgrading their OS and running AE CS3 (or any other version of AE). I’m in the middle of a three-way deadline crunch, so I’m timid about upgrading right now. Would love to receive confirmation from members of this community that 10.5.3 doesn’t cause AE CS3 to go haywire.

    Thanks!

As soon as I can download the whopping 536MB stand alone installer!

even if someone else has no problems, I wouldn’t upgrade until you’re out of your crunch.

I have a similar situation right now, so I’m only going to update my G4 laptop and see how that goes until I’m done with my deadlines. I would suggest you do the same.

Though, I know how tempting updates can be…

I have been running AE CS3 on my new Mac Pro OS X (10.5.3) for a month now and have had 0 problems (knock on wood). I have done a lot with multiple nested 3d comps and effects in high resolutions. So my machine has been working hard with no problems.

However, if I was working with a tight deadline I would be hesitant on upgrading. I would most likely wait.

    Hope this helps!

Have you really run 10.5.3? Not 10.5.2? Just asking as it was released yesterday and all that’s been available of this version before are developer betas.

Yes you are correct. I have been running 10.5.2 until yesterday. I actually noticed that after I wrote my post yesterday. Thanks for bringing that up!

I was compositing all day yesterday and did renders when I left the office and everything went smoothly (with 10.5.3). I will let everyone know if I have any problems.
