Hi,, I am shooting on an HD H.264 compression home video camera. I was wondering what would be the best render settings to use to make the video good quality

It’s already very compressed so it’s not like you can create super great quality from it. It depends what processing you are doing on it. If you are rendering from AE with the intention of watching it on your pc, use a compressed final format like mpeg or h.264. If you plan to do more work on it, or burn to dvd, render as QT animation / photo jpeg or lossless avi. These are higher quality, but likely to be too high a bitrate for your computer to play without subsequent compression.
