    Eg,

Do you want to get into corporate, broadcast or cinema?
If you want to get into corporate or broadcast, my answer it doesn’t really matter how you include it in your resume.
I’ve been in the broadcast and corporate industry for 15 years. For 8 years worked at a post house and interviewed/screened applicants before turning them over to the owner. Every time I interviewed people, my mission was to find the one person that could produce the best possible product and who would make the company the most money.
I was amazed at all the self-centered weird demos that kids brought in. Most had nothing to do with real world production. Do a TV spot or video for a non-profit if you need to, but get a reel.
We all is educated:) Show me hands-on, concrete examples of your craft. Show me the money.

    Good luck,
    Bruce

Unfortunately, we’re seeing fewer and fewer faculty members with meaningful industry experience in any but the most progressive schools. If the faculty isn’t tuned into what’s going on in the real world, it’s tough to expect the students to get it.

I once had an employee going finishing up at a UW school and he had a corporate media class…our company was involved in corporate media every day of various types. Everything the guy knew about corporate clients and projects was constantly contradicted by the PhD teaching the class, and when he attempted to offer hi real world expertise, he was squelched.

    Tim,

One thing I tell kids is that corporate video is about story telling. Take 100 photos from your family’s history/archives and show me what you can do with them.
