  AE running slow…any suggestions?

  Hello all,
  Been a while but Im back!
  I dont seem to recall having these issues before (had rebuilt my laptop a while ago), but AE seems to be very laggy and slow, especially while masking. Ill draw out a drag selection to group points and it takes a bit of time just to select them! Moving points is pain staking and has a ton of lag.

  I am not running any other programs, only AE. The video clip I am editing is only 720×480 and ~120mb. I have 4 gigs of RAM, plently of harddrive space free, etc.. I do not understand why AE is running so slowly, no other programs are performing this way.

  It did smooth out a bit when I dropped the resolution down to half, but for masking purposes I need to be as accurate as possible. Its frustrating and I want to get back to work on my project, but its so irratating I had to stop haha.

  Any suggestions or thoughts?
