rendering problems
Hi there,
I tryed to render several videos, to a quick time file (Jpeg photo compression), like its done on the basic training (video copilot).
Unfortunately ,the final resault isn’t what I expected. The rendered videos have loads of problems. There are several jumps, slowdowns, trembeling movements, pauses, gaps, etc.
My computer is a PC AMD Thlom 3000 (windows XP, 1.5 GB Ram, and my graphic card is onboard). I know its not good 🙁
Can you please explain me what is the problem? What should I improve on my computer to solve it? For instances, when I render audio on another kind of software (such as cubase SX) , despite there are some pauses and errors during my session work, the rendered file is always clean (with no errors).
By the way, when I use premiere Pro to export to DVD some videos of mine, there are also errors (gaps, jumps, etc).

So the problem isn’t on my computer? Nor on my Grphic board? However it is odd that when I mix my movies on Premiere Pro, the problem also ocured. And when I export to DVD the problem also subsist.
On th other hand, If there is only a simpe animation (with 1 layer with a photo + another layer with a movie) I can see the movie well. There is no slowdowns. When there are 2 or more movies mixed together at the same time, with keying effects, the movie almost stops. So strange.

Thank you very much for your help in did :). My footage is in fact in MPEG1 Format. I’m using clips that I filmed using my Sony Cybebershot P100.
So as you said, you think I should convert those files, right? Can I convert them to Quick Time? What Format do I converte them to? Can I use After Effects to do that? Is there any other program to do that convertion?

The problem is in fact with my footage :(. I went to a friend of my place and try to open my footage (MPEG files) with Quick Time Pro. The same kind of problems happened (slowdowns, gaps, jumps, etc). I tryed open with WMPlayer and the files played OK (so strange).Anyway, I tryed to save the file to MOV (with QT PRO) but when I opened that QT file, the errors were the same (sometime the images seemed to freeze). Anyway, I imported (using replace footage) to After Effects and a strange error appeared (decimator…), and the program shut down.
I than Tryed to Export my MPEG files to Quick Time (using Quick time PRO export) and there was another error (something to do with memory). So I don’t know what to do anymore.
Lastly I used some footage taken from the tutorials (in Video co pilot) in After Effects and the movies rendered fine. So the problem is on mpeg files. But they work fine in Premiere (I guess).

Forget the last reply. Thank you very, very much for your help. I exported my MPEG files to MOV using Quick Time Pro, and Bingo!!! Problem Solved. No more gaps, jumps, slowdowns in the final rendered videos 🙂
So thank you very much for your help, now I can make my movies, and its great!!!
