  • Embedding MP4 into web page ?

Posted by Tom Koveleskie on November 21, 2010 at 1:49 am

I have a simple one page site that is for promo’ing a demo MP4 video. The page was made using HTML code… I wish to embed a MP4 demo video on the page so people can view it from the page… I have a blank spot reserved and built into the web page… The block is pre-sized just for the MP4 to be droped into place. Can someone please help me accomplish this? The video is already uploaded to my server… Thanks!

    hello…

best place to start is the archives of this forum:

it’s quite a frequent topic around here…try some other keywords as well and you should be able to get your answer…

Thank you for this… I gave this a whirl but couldn’t get it to work… I am a total newbie to coding a site… I think I am not giving the code the right URl for the video to be seen… I’ve tried all sorts of combination without success… I guess it’s craigs list time to see if I can get someone to help me. Thanks again…

If you have your page on line please share a link, so we can see exactly what you are doing.

Are you creating your files hand coded or are you using a software to do so?

Video were not naturally supported on the web until HTML5, so historically you needed to use Flash to display videos. Not a single step task.

I’ve coded the single site page with Dreamweaver HTML Sorry I can’t make the link public. We can’t let the site become public because it is just for screening purposes for some individual programming buyers and brokers. I can send it privately although.

You may want to use the new HTML5 video widget for Dreamweaver. Read about it here:
